Priority UGA and Ohio State target Brenton Cox has pushed back his decision
Brenton Cox doesnt want to rush it.

The 4-star Stockbridge High defensive end shared on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon he wont be making his college decision on Sunday.

He will take his trip to G-Day and thenmake his decision a few days after the UGA spring game.

Cox told DawgNation on Sunday eveninghe planned to make his college decision this Sunday.

That came on the heels of his visit to Ohio State. It was also going to come the day after G-Day.

That will no longer be the case.

He rates as the nations No. 3 weak-side DE (247Sports Composite) for 2018. Cox had a strong junior season in which he racked up 18 sacks in 13 games.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder no doubt sees a chance to play early at both Georgia and Ohio State. The Bulldogs have been recruiting Cox hard since dating back to the first few games of his junior season.

This decision rates as a major moment for the Bulldogs in their 2018 class. Georgia currently only has two commitments for the current cycle.

He is very familiarwith UGA having taken more trips to Athens than any other school. The 4-star prospect wasnt expected to make his decision until after his senior season.

But things changed fast over the last two weeks. He realized he will graduate early and enroll at the school of his choice in January of 2018.

Cox sees a fit at both schools. But the Buckeyes have a very strong chance here.

Ohio State needs to restock at his position in 2018.

The position I play is the big pull right now for me with Georgia, Cox said. Staying close to home to my family would be big. Thats really all Georgia really means for me right there. The position I play, the proximity to the family and then I can get some early playing time.

Cox did tell DawgNation one edge the Bulldogs will have in their corner.

My family is all 100 percent Dawgs there, Cox said last month. They dont want me to go out-of-the-state anywhere with that. They all want to see me at Georgia.

The Bulldogs have dangled the opportunity to wear No. 1 in Athens. Imagine a pass rusher flying in off the edge wearing No. 1. That would be unique.

He could stick with his No. 8 in Columbus. His Twitter page is topped off by a recent pic he took with Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and his many championship rings.

Ive been going to Georgia since I was in the eighth grade, Cox said last month. Do you know how it is when you watch an old movie that you like? Every time you watch it you then see different stuff you like every time that makes you love it more. Thats how I feel about Georgia.

Cox rates as the nations No. 53 overall prospect for 2018.

G-Day is scheduled for Saturday. Georgias spring game kicks off at 2 p.m. ET and will be televised on SEC Network.
