So shop around yourself. And "Donald" is right about the CLUE report.

If you still have that dog, I agree with your insurance agent - you're uninsurable. You've got to stick with the same carrier, who can't drop you. Anyone else, can refuse to insure you because you still have that dog.

Call around yourself.
And request a copy of your CLUE report. Your insurer will know what that is.

Your insurance agency isn't going to look for cheaper insurance for you. It wouldn't be in their best interest. It's YOUR job to find a cheaper insurance - if it can be found. It may have been cheaper in the long run to cover the injuries yourself. Most state laws require all dog bites to be reported.

That is mostly true.
There is only one way to get insurance cheaper, which is to get rid of the dog (either by giving it away, putting it down, selling it, or whatever).
You cannot keep the dog and get insurance cheaper.
You are not completely uninsurable. There is one company (Foremost) that will insure homeowner's whose insurance companies have refused to renew their policies and who can't get insurance anywhere else. However, it will probably cost even more than what you are paying now.

I don't agree with Dan B at all. If you are going through an actual insurance agent, it IS their job to find YOU the best policy possible.
Insurance agents work with more than one company. If your current agent seems unwilling to help you with your situation, then check with other agents at other insurance agencies.
Remember that getting joint policies that insure both your home and your vehicles will usually save you money, so if you are shopping for a new home insurance policy, it might be a great time to re-price the insurance for your vehicles too.
Now, if other companies tell you the same thing or can't get you better rates, then you will know that your agent isn't failing to do his job and that you honestly won't get anything better for right now.
