Parents want to control how many hours I work?

So I am 19 and currently work at a grocery store part time. My parents are self-employed and so any additional income in our household goes towards theres and apparently due to the amount of money I made last year, it drove up our health insurance rates. Now my parents want me to limit my hours to 20 or less. But I am trying to save up for car and hopefully move out. What should I do?

Listen to your parents, or live without their support. Black and white.

Income doesn't drive up health insurance rates. However, if you're on some type of welfare, like you receive a subsidy, you can lose part or all of the subsidy - which is for low income people.
What your parents want you to do, is stay poor enough to be able to qualify for partial welfare. You'll never get ahead in the world, if your goal is to be poor enough for handouts. Since you're an adult, you can make your own decisions.

Move out so you don't count in the household income.

Move out first. Then start working however much you want.

Why not live with a relative or you can help pay for the insurance? I am guessing your parents have ObamaCare. The more money your family makes under the same roof the more you have to pay. This is why programs like this aren't good for society because it forces you take less hours.
