Where / how - or who can give me better insurance rates?

I am soon renewing my car insurance policy. Pinching every penny, I am shopping for The Best rate I can get.
My previous carrier is again raising my rate by another $52, which will be due in September.
I usually buy 6-month term policies, because this is most-simple within my state. I buy only the bare / rock-bottom policy because this usually the least expensive.
Where can I buy the cheapest policy only for Liability-coverage (which is required within my state)?

This doesn't exist, you need to shop around.

What state? You need more than the minimum bare bones policy. Just ask around for as many discounts as you can get.

It could be any company -- or none. No company offers better rates for everyone. No company is cheapest for everyone. You can get the best possible rates by asking every insurance company what rate it would charge for you. You can get the worst rates by going with a company that someone tells you is best, because that means that it's best for someone, but probably not you.

There's no "one size fits all" cheapest for everyone, and there's no shortcut. You will have to shop around.

It's only cheap until you have an accident. The typical minimum coverage policy pays for little more than a fender bender. Everything above the minimum coverage limit you pay for out of pocket. If the other driver goes to the hospital you could be paying off medical bills for the rest of your life.

How do you expect any recommendations when you don't provide any details about yourself or even the state you are living in?
Find an insurance broker and talk to them, they can research the various companies that offer car insurance in your state and give you some choices for your situation.

Six months is the standard policy in most states. Shop around, but make sure you're comparing equivalent coverages and not a "lowball" quote.
Also realize that "you get what you pay for" when it comes to claims service. Cheapo insurance means more problems if there's a claim. And if you only carry the legal minimum liability, you stand a good chance of getting your a** sued off.
