If you had the top Private Medical Insurance in the USA would that cover you for all or most of the expenses if you got cancer?

I am from Australia and private medical insurance here seems to cover you up to a certain amount then your on your own, even the top most expensive insurance you can get. Its like the reverse of car insurance where there is a deductible of say $500 then the insurance company pays the rest, with medical insurance they will pay up to a certain amount then you pay the rest...

We don't have caps on health coverage. But, some people (not as many that should) will pick up cancer insurance or critical illness with cancer coverage. Because, in no circumstance would the spouse who is well be covered for time off work, lodging and transportation are costs not normally covered, etc... Purely from a medical standpoint, we're good. But, from a reality standpoint, there are additional costs people unfortunately don't consider.

All insurance covers only up to 80% depending on your plan and the company. In an individual plan here is an annual deductible to pay before insurance covers any of the medical expenses. The annual deductibles in the U.S, for insurance purchased independently of an employer can be very high in the thousands. And many people dont pay out that much so they never get covered.
