Should I stop working this part-time job so my mother and I can keep Medicaid?

So lately I've been doing some deliveries for Postmates so I could have a little extra spending money for myself. I told my mom about this and she lost her sh**. She told me to stop working because if I make too much we'll lose our eligibility for Medicaid and it'll all be pointless. Do you guys think she is right? Also, if anyone knows what the Medicaid income limit is for Orange County, California for a household of 2 that would be great. I'm 20 btw. Thanks.

Your mom wants to stay on welfare for the rest of her life...you obviously do not.
Get a job and then plan to move out when you can...which will not affect your mother's welfare.
Good for you, keep working and get yourself out of the welfare hole.

Many college students find time to work without having to limit their income. Regardless of how you view your situation you ARE playing the system as your mother indicates.

"Take is easy"?!?!?
What kind of person says "don't earn money, let's stay on welfare? The kind that is using the welfare as a handout instead of a helping hand, like it's intended.
As a California resident who is paying for you medi-cal and, most likely, college tuition = this attitude makes me ill!!
What are you doing in school so that you don't end up with no job after you graduate?
- school organizations related to your major
- internships
- working with professors
- an actual job related to your major.

The welfare income limit in CA for a household of 2 is $22,100.
You say you're a broke college student? I've known many who went to college while holding down a full time job so it can be done, it just depends on what you want in life.
