What can I do about my damaged vehicle due to the Storm?

Okay so I had purchased a Dodge Challenger (my dream car) a week prior to this event. I was waiting until I received my license to finally put insurance on my vehicle but unfortunately a week into my car we got struck with Hurricane Harvey. I was upset and very angry at myself for having to leave my car behind when we evacuated but I had no choice. Life over anything I guess and it s true. Returning back to my home (luckily no water got inside my trailer) I rush to my car and find out that the car is flooded through as a totaled. I tried contacting the Insurance company to see if there was something that could be done but I didn t get to place the insurance on it because it was just too late. I placed the car under FEMA as a totaled vehicle and I tried contacting my dealership because I walked out with GAP Insurance before I left and if I remember the guy had mentioned that "it covered flood" and asked them recently if they can take it in and they said to contact State Farm but I m getting no where. I m so upset, can someone please suggest me to something I could please do?? I m very upset. Thank you.

If, you purchased comprehensive coverage on your car, then (yes) it covers flood damages.
Gap coverage is in (excess) of your collision and/or comprehensive coverage, that (if) your vehicle is totaled, and if the actual cash value is (less) than what you owe on a loan, then GAP takes over and pays the balance of the loan.
But, if you do not have collision or comprehensive coverage, then GAP coverage is useless, since it only pays the (gap) between what insurance pays, so if no coverage then GAP will not pay a dime.
If this car was financed, then most dealers will not allow the vehicle to leave the lot (without) proof of full coverage which means collision and comprehensive to protect the lender and liability that is required by law.
Now, if you paid cash for this car, then GAP is useless, since GAP only applies to financed vehicles only.

GAP insurance covers NOTHING if it is the ONLY insurance you have.
GAP insurance ONLY covers a car that also has the other insurance that it needs.
Because you did not put insurance on the car, you cannot use the GAP insurance, and no insurance can pay for any of what has happened to this car.
You have to pay for all of it yourself, using only your own money, because insurance is not allowed to help in this situation.

Yes...I'm also throwing the BS flag on this. "I was waiting until I received my license to finally put insurance on my vehicle." That doesn't even make sense. Why would you buy a car without a license. And, I kind of doubt you could buy a car without a license. Smells fishy.

it is entirely possible that it can be restored, once it dries out and you can get into the mechanics, maybe the wiring would need to be replaced, the upholstery as well but you probably planned to do that anyway, don't give up

Nice practice in English. Is this from India or Pakistan? " please suggest me" is the clue, and the information you provide is impossible.
"I was waiting until I received my license to finally put insurance on my vehicle"
So, you can't get a car loan and would buy it cash.
You can't legally drive the car.
They can't give you gap liability insurance without a license.
You could have bought the car for cash and had it towed home.
Gap insurance is liability-only for damage you cause. You don't call that company as a waste of time.
If there is any truth in this, the loss is yours and nothing you can do about it.

Why would you waste your time calling insurance companies when the vehicle was not insured and when it was flooded/totaled? In fact, it is illegal to own a vehicle and not have it insured. Suck it up. There is nothing you can do about it. Next time, don't buy a vehicle that you cannot insure right away.

There is nothing you can do. You bought something and didn't insure it. No one has any obligation to pay you money for that.

Sorry.
You may receive something from FEMA, but not near the amount you paid. The GAP insurance only pays the difference between what your insurance pays and the balance of the loan/lease. If you had no other insurance, in exceptional cases, the GAP insurance will pay the difference between the amount of the loan and the replacement value of the vehicle.
