You can. They are advertised on TV in the UK. Those policies are absolute rubbish. The question that is always asked (by the idiot woman in the "Parky" advert) of "Are they good value?" should be answered with "of course they're not".

What kind of insurance? Life insurance or medical? Even if you answer questions or not, the insurance company still does a medical records check on you. So, they know. The insurance company may not take a high risk or if they do they may charge you more money.

You are not looking in the right place. You go to your state or federal insurance exchange, set up under the Obamacare law.

Ok, let me flip this one around. If you go to buy house insurance...they ask that you confirm there is no existing damage. If you go buy car insurance with physical damage, they do an inspection.
Why would you think life (could also be disability or long term care) insurance would be any different?

Maybe because you're not being specific enough to ask the right questions. What kinda of insurance are you talking about? Life insurance? Medical Insurance? Pet insurance? Certainly car insurance shouldn't.

Risk assessment is a part of selling insurance.

You can. The premiums are high and the policy limits are low. They have to be for a company to take a blind risk.
If your medical history says that you are more likely to die sooner than the average life expectancy, then you will pay more than someone else with a clean history.

What kind of insurance.
- health insurance in the USA doesn't ask medical questions.
- homeowners insurance doesn't ask medical questions
- auto insurance doesn't.
