Maybe for vandalism? I'd call my insurer and ask. Or read my policy.

No. They don't cover damages caused by someone you allowed to stay with you. You could take him to court for it.

You will need to file criminal charges against him and your insurance company will also sue him personally.
If you haven't bothered to press charges at this point, you cannot expect your insurer to buy you new stuff...
