Hi. I currently live in KY. I have the whole obamacare Medicaid health insurance and I recently got married and wanted to add my husband. He has insurance through where he used to work and they are canceling his insurance because he no longer works for that company, so I called to get him the same as I have and I told the guy that he would be loosing his in the next 60 days. After a few questions later he said he put him on there and that he now has the same insurance as me and then hung up before I could ask anything else. So will that coverage start as soon as he gets the card in the mail or does it start after his other insurance is officially cancelled.

I don't think one has anything to do with the other but I'm only applying logic to this, not actual experience.
Since you added him to yours, that coverage should be effective immediately, since presumably you're being charged for it beginning when you called. Once he receives the cards he can start using them.
The other insurance being canceled is the responsibility of his former employer; your husband's only responsibility is presenting the correct insurance cards when he is seeking medical treatment so that the correct insurance company is billed.

The ACA is not Medicaid.

Health insurance is hidden theft. You'll never get it back, even by getting sick.
Peace.
