Unless anyone here has done this which I doubt, you will have to phone around.

Two options, neither will permit this property to stay as a homeowners policy.
1. Rent it on a short term basis to someone you know. Buy landlord insurance.
2. Purchase a vacant policy. These are expensive with bad coverage, but it is what it is.

UK or the US, NO insurance company wants to insure an house that is vacant, thus since no there, then no one to prevent a loss. The same problem happens after someone dies.
Casey gave 2 good ideas that are not great, but will protect you, but is limited.
If you can't rent it, or buy a vacant policy, do you have (any) family willing to live there (even) if free while gone, since then maybe able to keep your policy. Just a thought?
