Call your insurance agent and ask. Might be nothing, as where I live, because the insurance flat out won't cover it.

Not sure of the average increase, but many companies won't even offer H.O.I. with a pitbull. First order of business is to check with several companies to see if they will even issue it. Most likely even the ones who do will want the property fence in. Good luck!

Generally, its not an issue of increased cost, its an issue of acceptability. Most companies will not cover you with a pitbull...period. They don't charge more, they simply decline to offer a quote.
When you can find coverage, it may include or exclude liability associated with animals (including pet dogs). There are a couple of carriers who don't ask about breeds, State Farm comes to mind.
